what is the furry beige growth on the bottom of my sago palm tree and also on the trunk?
I just bought an indoor sago tree and notice there is a beige furry growth on the base of the plant and also the trunk. The tree itself is still green and healthy looking. What is this an if its a disease is there a way to cure it or should I not try.
In sagos I have seen and they number in the hundreds, they are naturally brown and fuzzy at the base and trunk. That's where the leaves used to be. When the leaves die and fall off, the trunk is left fuzzy.
