How to spruce up old wallpaper that we can't take down?
We are renting our home which we love. However, the bathroom is very outdated with this flowery wallpaper and border. The landlord does not want us to take it down so any advice out there? Its white, blue and green with a little pink. I put an olive shower curtain and curtain on the window but its not enough. ANY IDEAS????
pick one of the darkest colors in the paper and make that your base color, this is the color of carpets you will use . Then pick one the bright color in the wall paper that you like best. This will be the color you use for your accessories such as soap holders. you can alternate these two colors in the room but you want more of the rich darker color to give the room less of a "busy" look and it will also tone down the girly look and make it more of a bold look.
THE EASIER WAY IS...... buy wall paper you like and use thumb tacks to hang it. It keeps the paper under it undamaged so the owner i happy and it gives you the look you choose. Before my husband and I bought our home we lived in public housing. They wil ot let you hang paper or paint so we thumb tacked wall paper up. It made the place look more like a home without permanent damage or costly replacement,
